I belong to Indiana Predator Central and in February of "06 our website had a hunt, brunch, and shoot at 225 yards. First place was a Yellerdog custom made cow horn coyote howler that was donated by Yellerdog. The call was easy to learn how to use and after practicing with it for about a day I decided to take it out. I went to one place and no takers. On my way home, I decided to try one more place near my home. I was set up in the woods on a swamp and started off the stand with an injured woodpecker. After about 15 minutes of calling, I saw three of them sneaking through the brush about 150 yards away. They were not responding to the woodpecker serenade so I picked up the yellerdog cow horn howler and went into a few barks and then into an injured coyote It worked! The male, I assume, came running straight at me. I had a fallen tree top five yards in front of me and, wouldn't you know it, he hung up on the other side where I did not have a clear shot at seven yards. I then saw one of the other ones coming in right behind the male. She stopped ten yards from me in a shooting lane and I anchored her with #4 buckshot out of my 12 gauge. Thanks to Yellerdogs call, I would never have harvested a coyote that morning. Thanks again Yellerdog!
